Nominations for SOLIDAR Silver Rose Awards 2019 are now open.

SOLIDAR has been organising its annual Silver Rose Awards in the European Parliament since the year 2000, together with the S&D Group, the Party of European Socialists (PES) and Euractiv. It is an occasion to celebrate Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and those individuals whose extraordinary struggles contribute greatly to social justice and solidarity throughout the world.

EASPD joins forces to oppose draft additional protocol to the Oviedo Convention

EASPD together with 8 other organisations of persons with disabilities, are calling for the immediate withdrawal of the draft additional protocol to the Oviedo Convention.   Since 2014, under the mandate received from member states of the Council of Europe, the DH-BIO Committee of the Council of Europe has been working on a draft additional protocol to the Convention concerning the protection of human rights and dignity of “persons with mental disorders”.

The segregation of students has been a challenge that all European countries have had to face since the birth of public education policies.

Every nation looks to improve and develop education systems and with the help of awareness raising and social advances these systems can contribute to the effective inclusion of all members of society.
