EASPD endorses NGO’s joint statement asking for investment in tackling child poverty

More than 20 organisations within the EU Alliance for Investing in Children, including EASPD, and the Child Rights Action Group (CRAG) have signed the joint statement “The post-2020 Multiannual Financial Framework must invest in children and aim to end child poverty”.

The petition urges the EU institutions and its Member States to invest in children and develop a future Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) that works to end child poverty and promotes the social inclusion of all children in Europe.

Time to get serious: let’s invest in high quality support services

Community-based, person-centred support services are essential to enable all people to enjoy their human rights on an equal basis, beyond disability or any other factor. EASPD’s members are working hard to fully implement the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD), by providing innovative services that ensure the inclusion of all in society.   To guarantee the sustainability of these services and to increase their provision, access to reliable sources of funding is needed.

EASPD hosts the first meeting of the AMiD Project’s Community Advisory Board

Last 11 and 12 April, EASPD hosted the first meeting of the Community Advisory Board of the AMiD project.   The meeting gathered representatives from local authorities from Sweden, Spain and Romania, together with EU umbrella organisations and external experts. Participants discussed about the current situation of migrants and disabilities, shared ideas on how to develop the AMiD Needs Assessment Tool and proposed future steps to further disseminate and scale-up AMiD results.
