The pillar that holds the key to a more prosperous Europe

On the 21st November, the European Commission launched its annual analysis of the economic and social priorities in the European Union: The Annual Growth Survey 2019. Good news: the economy is growing again. Bad news: it’s not benefitting everyone and everywhere equally.

The European Commission has outlined three elements for a prosperous future: (1) delivering high-quality investment, (2) focusing on reforms that increase productivity growth, inclusiveness and institutional quality; and (3) continuing to ensure macro-financial stability and sound public finances.

Members voice: Job Carving – a positive support measure in Malta to foster employment of persons with disabilities.

Malta is a history-rich small archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea, consisting of the main island of Malta and the smaller islands of Gozo and Comino. In 2015, Government committed to enforce the 2% quota, which denotes that for employers hiring more than 20 employees, at least 2% of the workforce must be persons with a disability.

Platform-K awarded Culture prize from the City of Ghent

EASPD Belgian members Platform-K were awarded the Culture prize from the City of Ghent on the 9th November, 2018. This year's focus was on  'Talent development', an area in which Platform-K excel. The jury, composed of 5 experts in the field, unanimously decided that they deserved the win. "The artistic vibe of Platform-K is appreciated both nationally and internationally," said Annelies Storms, Gents alderman for Culture. "That makes them a true ambassador for dance and for Ghent."
